Black-throated Thrush Turdus ruficollis atrogularis
The
observation of a first winter male Black- (or Dark-) throated Thrush at Harlingen, the Netherlands, offered a nice
opportunity to add a new plumage of this fine species to my 'list'. So it seemed
a good idea to present these on my website.

tame adult male, photographed on 13
April 1998 on the Wadden-isle of Terschelling,
Friesland. Also
famously under-twitched since only about 25 birders saw this beauty during its
two-day stay on this island. I guess most birders were quite satisfied with the
long-staying 1st winter female from 1996 until they saw the pictures of this
one…
